Talking about suicide:

In conversation with Samara McPhedran

Suicide affects individuals, families and communities throughout society. In this podcast, Samara McPhedran takes us on a journey of thinking about suicide in relation to young people, older people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and those people in specific jobs like farming.

Dr Samara McPhedran is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Institute for Suicide Research and Prevention (AISRAP). Dr McPhedran joined AISRAP in 2012 after spending a number of years at the Executive Level in the Australian Public Service, where she worked extensively in social policy development and analysis. Before joining the public service, Dr McPhedran was Director of a private research consultancy business. She has over 50 journal articles, book chapters and conference presentations on topics ranging from suicide prevention through to disability policy and rural community wellbeing.
